My 190 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
O btw i would watch out for the cories, some of your fish can die from them if they eat them.

Did a water change, removed all java fern shoots today.

Also added 3 African butterflyfish.

Had a small panic attack, when I didn't find my bichir for a day, looked under my bed in fear it escaped, but he was chilling in the tank.

Also going to add 3 more polyreptus (bichirs) in a week or two, and 4-6 more hujeta's from work, but need to wait a while so that they can grow a bit more in size before adding to tank, not sure if the ones I already have would eat them.

Still looking for ropefish...

Been worried about my poly, haven't seen him eat since I got him.

But just before going to bed tonight, I used a flashlight and I saw him take a female apistogramma vijeta!
Good boy! Or girl, could be a girl.

Also, waiting for my pay check, will then buy a whole bunch of Amano shrimps and some tetras, or danios for both the poly and my hujeta's.
My clowns don't seem to be to interested in sinking Hikari cichlid gold yet, they definitively love blood worms.
Just a hint of it, and they all come out of hiding!

After doing a great job cleaning my tank yesterday, I woke up to a new mess today.
Poop and small driftwood pieces all over the sand.

The cause?
My three bristle nose Plecos.

So I actually managed to catch two of them today, and I'll try for the third when the opportunity presents itself.

I also added three different polys.
Now I have 4 different species of polys.

Will add photos when I take some good photos of them.

Here's one of the newcomers.

Please notice the poop, this is the crap I'm trying to reduce.
Plecos do more harm then good IMO, I'm going for snails for algae controll.

Been using a certain species at my work, and I no longer have to clean for algae.
So I'm trading my 3 Plecos for 5-10 of those snails.
They eat every kind of algae, and don't harm the plants.
And I've yet to see them reproduce!

Ropefish might be added on Friday!
Ordered 7 to the store, taking 2 for myself.
