may need it when we talk how much did you pay for your haitian cichlids and at what size were they? Also did you get your doviis from them too? I was going to get a male dovii from you but you don't ship even within the same state

Regarding prices, Don's prices are reflective of size/quantity. He'll email you a price sheet and you can see what they're priced accordingly. Also check Jeff Rapps if you don't plan on ordering as much, I think his quantity requirements are less.
so the one you got from him was it an identified male? or its was just luck you had run into a male from his batch?
If you keep the temp in the mid eighties and constant, while maintaining good water quality, your hait fry will have a fair chance.
These are my breeding pair with their latest fry, this winter I had a heater crap out over night, the temp dropped from 85 to 75 by morning, 49 of 50 fry from that spawn died. Here's the lone fry survivor

i don't have one but i don't think their the hardest cichlid to maintain...other cichlids need more care and need pristine water conditions...like the umbee...rapid water changes causes them to get really stressed out and all those things with the chemistry needs to be at good point.
I think haitian cichlids are just like all other cichlids...maybe someone that know's more about them can elaborate
duanes, that's is an awesome display of photos! How old are those Odo's? I'm contemplating getting some more when I order.... esp. if I need a male! Thanks for sharing.
As you can see..... in certain pictures one has a darker spot on the dorsal fin and the other doesn't.
