I spent the majority of my summer vacation (I am an elementary school teacher) doing a "forced remodel" of our house. Our washing machine stuck in the fill cycle for several hours (my wife started it and then went out to run errands) and flooded the first floor of our house. The house has Oregon white Oak flooring throughout and it was all ruined. We were forced to move out of the downstairs for a month while I pulled up the floor and had it replaced.

This included moving a 135 that was plumbed through the wall to an underfloor sump and a 65 hex as well. The only upside was that I finally had the impetus to upgrade my 135 - I had been wanting to do it for a while.

The new tank is a 210 gallon Aqueon "Megaflow". Back, left side, and plumbing is all painted with flat-black Krylon.

The stand/hood cabinet was built by a friend that owns a cabinet shop. I've always done DIY stands and hoods in the past, but I wanted these to match our existing cabinets. The tank sits at 36" with the top at 65".

Filtration is under the floor in the crawl-space. There is a 300 gallon Rubbermaid sump with lots of DIY filtration and 96 gallons/day of automatic water change. Circulation is provided by two Tunze Turbelle nanostream 6045 pumps.

Lighting consists of two 96W PCs, two 65W PCs, and one 18" (9W) Marineland LED fixture. I plan on adding a couple more LED fixtures, but I am trying to figure out which gives the most bang for the buck... The lights are mounted on a cool setup that allows them to move back 6" or forward 18" for maintenance and tank access.

Substrate is 200 pounds of Carib-Sea "Sunset Gold" sand. For decoration there is 38 pounds of grape wood and about 20 pounds of mopani wood, as well as petrified wood and various cool rocks.

Stocklist:
*Cichlids*
3x Geophagus abalios
2x G. Steindachneri
3x Gymnogeophagus balzani
1x G. australis
1x G. meridionalis "Norte"
2x Mesonauta festivus
2x Angels
2x Tahuantinsuyoa macantzatza
1x Biotodoma cupido
*Characins*
1x Orange-Fin Flagtail
13x Columbian Tetras
9x Diamond Tetras
6x Lemon Tetras
6x Serpae Tetras
*Catfish*
1x Blue Phantom Pleco
1x Marble Sailfin Pleco
6x Julii Corys

I plan on doing a full write up on the setup soon, but there are still a few trim details on the cabinet to finish and I need to take a whole lot more pictures. :D

That looks great! Perfect placement, I like how you can see it from the front and side.
Thanks - I actually planned for this when we built the house eight years ago. I had a 135 in the same spot but this blows it away. :headbang2

That looks great. Makes the house look awesome, it fits right in...tough to have someone complain about a tank when it looks like that
