Yeah, he's really nice. Decided against the FX5, as I've heard mixed reviews about them, but i picked up 3x Emperor 400's. The Water is crystal clear, and all of the fish are healthy!Diggin the pike and you'll love the FX5.
^Horrible choice. I'm sorry, emperors hold very little media. There is nothing wrong with using a lot of emperor 400s. Just not on a 220 gallon tank with that level of stock. What bad things have you heard about fx5? They are one of the most popular canister filters used on that size tank.
I love my FX5, for what its worth, and I have to say that Fluval's support of them is impeccable! I had one have a slow leak. They sent me two different motors, but no matter what, it continued to slow leak. I sent them the entire unit to test, and they sent me a brand new one, still in the box! That is what I call standing behind your product.
I plan to have FX5s on all of my large tanks.

Yeah... they have a lifetime warranty on the FX5. It is rare you get a lifetime warranty on a filter. And so far, they have backed it up.I know some people have had success with them, but i haven't had the chance to. Glad you were able to get your situation settled.
500 gallon tank ran by 3 Emperors..
Can't be to bad, eh?
Don't be defensive, I am only trying to help. Three emperors can not run a 500 gallon or a 220 gallon, especially with your stock. I have 3 emperor 400 and 2 fx5. I have many years of experience with both of the filters. If you don't want to listen to my advice, that is your choice. Fx5 are good filters and for your stock it would be prefered.
