Nice caiman :)

Btw, how often does ge go onto the wood and what is the temperature of the water?

I need to add more land... I have plexiglass that I need to cut and add.. that will make the water land ratio 60/40... the water temperature in my opinion is to cold... (as of now) but is around mid 70's it is probably a little less.... but he isn't on the wood that much....

Nice

I know, for some reason they are only on the inside on the front... I think it is because in october it used to be a saltwater tank. but whatever.. I was tired of him being in the small tank... I scrubbed that 75 for 2 hrs... but I am going to make it spotless one way or another.... thanks for the comments....
Try some lime juice ... or maybe scraping it off with a blade ... had the same problem with most of my tanks, but never got around to doing anything abt it ...

nice set up. i like

Do you have any experience with the Spectacled Caiman? I hear that they rarely leave the water given that the water is in the 85-90 degree range. Any thoughts? I'm thinking of keeping one in a 75g aquarium that is full of water with a turtle ledge attached to a side of the tank.

I have never kept one.. but yes they are more aquatic.. paleosuchus branch of from the "caiman" family (specs. yacare, broad snout, ect.) millions of yrs. ago they (paleo) live in deep forests in fast streams... their belly is armored... they are very terestrial leaving water and wondering miles away from it in search for food... the specs. are bigger and way more aquatic... they need to bask but basically live in and around water... for any crocodilians of the order caiman would need a water land ratio of I would say 70/30... what you are saying I would think would be fine... they grow farely fast... you would also need to check state regulations because you might need a permit for certain species....

I also do have a 3ft. american alligator that has and meets the same requirments as a spectacled caiman...

if you have any specific ?'s just ask...
