MY 300+ GALLON BUILD

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thought i would do a update on my tank.
i moved at the beginning of June to a new house so the tank had to be moved from the basement i had it in to a new place. it took four of us with two trucks to get just the tank moved, still had another full truck box of rocks and drift wood. the tank had bowed a bit so we had to remove the insulation from the back to fit through doors.

we were able to start moving at middle of may so i set up all my smaller tanks at the new house got them up to temp and transferred all the fish and filter media to those tanks so i didn't need to be worried about the fish while moving the big tank, i used a lot of dividers to keep apart the big boys.

the tank is set up in the garage of the new place, i got busy with work so it took longer then i had planned to get running again but it is running no leaks no problems.

first pic is me waiting for the drift wood to sink because i let it dry out to long and for the tank to get up to temp.
the second is the tank as it sits today

here is a update on my diy tank
the tank split a seam by the glass while i was in mexico in the middle of may luckily my room mate was home and caught it . I felt bad making him deal with all the fish and tank but it got done, lost only one fish in the move cramming them in every other tank in the house.
i am giving up on the tank it held for a while but had a bad bow to it, so i knew it was only a matter of time here are pics of where it split. lessons learned
