My 300 Gallon Money Pit

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is totally awesome!! Absolutely love it. The whole mud room being two feet lower is definately a VERY smart idea for the filter...but it could prove to be a bad thing if you ever get a leak...eeek! Definately do a progress report as i am enthrawled by it! Congrats

Thanks. The wet/dry will have a siphon break so no worries there. The canister system would be no different than anybody elses canister under their tank getting a leak. But you are right, I need to make darn sure I don't get any leaks.

Stock list, our main tank dwellers will be a pair of Oscars. I am still researching and debating on what else to put with them (dithers and etc.) I have lots of ideas I just need to narrow it all down. I also plan on catching a juvinile Yellow Belly Bullhead from a lake near here for the tank also.

Just a pair of oscars?! you could do two pairs at least......maybe get some cats too.......

I only want a pair as I want more personality out of them. And I'm still debating and researching more fish.

Someday I'd like a Tig !! :)

I'm finally getting around to working on this project again !!!!

Here is my filter room in progress:

The inside dimensions of the sump will be 73.5" x 20" x 38".

I'm shipping my 22 month old anti-helper (bless her heart) to my Mother's house tomorrow and spending an entire day on this. It would be nice to at least get the sump finished and most of the plumbing done.

Looking good. Sounds like you have everything planned out well, so it shouldn't take too long from here.

that tank stand is a work of art :D

IMO the tank would have looked a bit better if it was deeper but the stand looks so nice i wouldnt be looking at the fish :D
