Thanks for the feedback!!!

Where in the big NE do you live?
South of Omaha

I'd love to know how your regulate your lights that way.
Dual Zilla timer. I love it, set it and leave it.

But no-one seems to have pointed out on major factor, most the stocking in that tank is gonna be oscar food in around 6-7 months time...
It's my 300 gallon Darwin tank and there are no plans to move anybody, it's survival of the fittest. Years ago I had an adult Oscar and one Red Tail Shark in a 55 gallon tank for almost 10 years. The Red Tail "owned" that tank. I'll keep you posted in 6-7 months.

Where'd you get the severum?
Petsmart. The Mom&Pops LFS's around here suck and the one that is good currently is in the middle of moving and doesn't have the fresh tanks up and running yet.

Cool ideas but that looks like its going to be a pain to maintain in the long run with all that stuff in there.

During my last water change I vacuumed 120 gallons. Vacuum a section at a time while moving items to get under them. I never stopped the flow of the siphon and hit every inch before I had 120 gallons out. It's a hobby and a fun one. You only get out of it what you put in it. ;)

where did you pick up that size of a tank...
eBay, 6 months old from a guy in Des Moines. It was made by Midwest Custom Aquariums with 3/4" cell cast.

awesome setup. i like how you changed the plants to more green, makes it less busy. those o's are gonna love it in there. i have to restate how awesome your filtration setup is, water's going to be drinkable- haha!

So its been almost 3 months, how are those O's doing? I bet they are loving it in there. Any casualties yet? In a tank that huge I bet they will have tons of personality, they will still mess up your decor no doubt about it haha but its part of the fun. I swear they looks at you with a devilish grin when they know your looking and they are pulling on a plant.

I bet you could leave that tanks for a week straight and come back and nothing would be out of place, but you sit there for a hour, look away for 2 seconds and look back and someone will be "playing" with something.

Hows the filtration working out for you?

I posted in one of your other threads on the filtration and tank setup before I realized you had this one. So update some of those pics! Those Oscars must be 5" buy now haha they grow like weeds
