My Oscars are already turning the fake ones into toys. Good thing I went with the ones with weighted bases. :D

They are actually looking better now that they have a little algae growth on some of them. They haven't been cleaned since day one but since nitrates are kept at 10ppm or lower, algae growth has been extremely slow.

sorry, could be a wonderful tank
Oh cmon! haters...:grinno: . I love the tank and filtration personally.

WOW love the sump and bio tower and uv and stuff. Your equipment is the epitome of over kill I love it! Bet your water is just awesome. You run RO water ? Phython I am assuming

The night time pics look awesome!!! Love the lighting.

Thanks again for the comments!

No RO but I do used softened water. Potassium Chloride instead of Sodium Chloride though for regeneration.

No python. I drain with a large gravel vac that just goes out the door and waters the yard. I drain 125 gallons at a time.

To fill I have a 1/2" copper line plumbed to just above the aging tank. I fill the aging tank (40 gallon breeder), add Prime, then run the heaters (350watts) and small powerhead for about 8 hours to bring it up to temp, then dump it into the sump. Repeat two more times.

Somebody may say the math doesn't add up. :)
A 40 gallon breeder tank is actually almost 45 gallons. And with evaporation (in the winter months especially), 135 gallons (give or take) brings my sump back to the right level.

And since the sump has 200 gallons of water in it I can vacuum 125 gallons from the tank then immediately restart my sump pump.
