My 315G Plywood Tank Build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The sump worked fine, it's currently sitting under the tank waiting for the big fill. A have worked out the issue with the sealing of the glass and after a few more coats (6) of liquid rubber around the front frame it will be ready. Tonight I plan on adding a coat and doing the electrical stuff. I have managed to build a light hood that holds 16 4' bulbs and 7 moonlights.

Just looked over you build from the beginning today. goodluck finishing up and cant wait to see the pics. im going to do something like this in the near future and plan to come back to this discussion for reference.

ross, how many gallons of pond coat did you use, to do your sump..

Keep it coming Ross! Your testing and Imformation is extremely helpful. I'm in the early stages of my first build now with just having the frame completed. Now I'm working on the stand, please let us all know how the sealing is going (I know this is my main concern)

I need to also figure out how to seal up the last bits where the glass/caulk/silicone/etc. come together. I have the same concerns you do... Wish the Pond Coat would have just stuck to the glass!

I just comented on your thread, the fiberglass resin did the trick and sealed the viewing window. I am currently adding a few more coats on PC where I replaced my frame and then I will fill it.
