My 315G Plywood Tank Build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree that the brown looks very natural. Personally now I wish I had gone with dark green instead of the light blue. Live and learn, and I can always re-coat later on if I want.

Love the live plants, looks terrific.

oh yeah, im not downing your tank. Its look great, and natural as mentioned, but when i get ready to build a tank i would like a blk background for sure. You think a coat of the sweetwater epoxy paint will adhere to the pond coat without flaking?

Use one or the other. I used Sweetwater on my ply build. Worked great. Holding no issues. See thread in my sig line.

I understand, someone on here said something recently about being able to seal the LR so it would remain black but I dont recall the product or the thread it was mentioned in.

Yes, the lights seem to be good with the plants but I do want to whiten it up a little. Going to try some new bulbs in the near future.

I'm personally looking at doing full LED for my big tank when it's done. I have a pair of T8 LED bulbs now and they're great. Not cheap but once you start pricing specialty bulbs vs a plain Philips 5500K T8 then the move to LED doesn't seem so bad. Locally I can get them for about $50 a bulb. You do have to bypass the ballast when using them. Oh, and half the power consumption of the traditional tube. :)

Amazing tank! I'm jealous!

I'm curious why the socks in the sump did not work out to your liking? I'm working on sump plans for my 220g and was thinking of using socks.
