FYI, Angels are cichlids too. Anyway, I would not keep that Angel in with Mbune for any longer then you really need to.

the only thing that would make people mad is if you got a bunch of good advice and didn't take any of it. at least you're here trying to learn, that's half the battle. GL and have fun with it, try not to get frustrated which is easy to do in the beginning.
I agree with you SkidMark

yeah hes coming out soon and as for the gromies lol they chase the cichlids around lol so im more worried about the cichlids then the gromies haha

If you are as attached to your Angels as I am you really should go out and get another tank for them. The Africans should be in a tank by themselves, The Jag will be very aggresive and should be in a tank with similar Central Americans or housed alone. At this point if you can't get another tank or 2 you should just decide which ones you like best, bite the bullet and get rid of the fish you can't keep and learn from this going farward. I made some of the same mistakes years ago when when I started keeping fish and no matter what the fish are doing now, the fish will change and you'll end up loosing fish you really don't want to loose.

Nice setup formthe Africans but you have American cichlids there too.

I agree

"i was told from a few pet shops that they would be good together.. gosh this frustrates me"

Speaking as a lfs manager, the opinions of the employees are no more sound than the opinions of MFK members. Opinions are often passed as fact. I encourage you to begin reading books and credible magazines rather than take all of your knowledge from a store employee or a fellow member on MFK.
I am in no way trying to suggest that MFK members are not informed. Recognize that much of what these people know (myself included) comes from reading books first and then discussing with fellow members about like opinions.
