My 5 gallon fish tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
do you guys think that a ten gallon tank could fit on a tesk. that can hold up to 400 hundred pounds plus a computer

A ten gallon doesn't require special furniture and would be fine on a desk.

Most people are looking for more length when they go up in aquarium size. A standard 20 gallon isn't really much benefit - it's only taller. If you get a 20, be sure to get a 20 long. Otherwise, I would just stick with the 10.

1 gallon ~ 7 pounds

a 10 gallon = 70 pounds which is nothing
a 20 gallon = 140 pound which really isn't much either.

so when do you plan on taking that 55? and i know you cooled off already and all but please on this forum we don't use language like those on here so its a benefiting reminder...any more and it could cause trouble with others and MOD's. ;) you should listen to what the others say, their telling you what the proper tank size is and all the other essencials thats needed to have your fishes in a healthy environment...and the "majority" from what you say that your fishes mainly been in the 5 gallon since about 6 months? and 10 fishes are in that small confinment...and even though you do weekly water changes which is normally the best way for fish tanks...with the amount of fishes you have in a 5 gallon...you must have some ammonia problems and i bet your filter is taking on alot of bioload from all your fishes excess waste...the more bigger the fishes get the more they give waste which then leads to ammonia. Please get the larger tank soon...hopefully the 55 gallon a 30 gallon is somewhat "ok" but is not ideal...if you want you better have a BIG and BETTER filtration system to take the bioload and keep the tank healthy....healthy tank environment equals healthy and happy fish...:D

A 30 should be fine, he can actually get away with 20 if he wanted to... These are small 1'' tropical fish, not cichlids (as he stated, he removed his lab) or other fish that grow to a large extent.

You are nagging rather then helping, i don't think he needs any more reminders as this thread is already what 7 pages... If he truly cares about his fish, he will do what is necessary. Neither you or i can do anything about that. Advice has already been given, and it's good that he's looking for a larger tank and not completely abandoning the thread.

seriously im getting a 20 gallon fish tank in a week or so

Think seriously about getting the 20 long, your fish will have more room to swim and you will have more options for stocking.
