Hey everyone. First, thank you for the compliments! Secondly, I apologize for falling off the face of the mfk earth!! My computers have been down (which has also led to problems with my iPhone since syncing it won't happen right now). Also, between a new puppy, vacations and holidays, any and all fish time is spent on maintenance and not messing around on the internet. The good news is, I am currently working on getting these computers up and running. Bad news, they are being royal pain in the ass. Once I can start syncing my phone and get it up and running text posts will begin again.

As for photos.... Any really good photos are probably going to be in mid to late January. I've got a lot of building and plumbing to do before I spend time snapping photos. If things really get underway, I'll document it.

As for any news... As one small step towards getting all these tanks plumbed together, I picked up an aquaLogic 2 stage temp controller Model TR115DN to run my 800W titanium heater when its cold and my multiple fans for evaporative cooling when its hot. So far, I'm really happy with it. I'm able to program in a set point with a nice +/- window. Currently, I have my set point at 77 with low of 72 and high of 82. I believe it runs the heater till it reaches 77 and then shuts off, not coming on again until the temp drops to 72. This works well in that it is using a lot more electricity at night than during the day. The fish seem to be tolerating it well, as the temp doesn't swing really fast due to the quantity of water.

My beautiful 94 gallon tank is finally freed of moving junk and is due to have a crack in one of the overflow boxes siliconed where is has a small crack. This will be where the water input will be for the entire system along with my discus. There will be no old water recirculating into this tank, but rather have a constant drip and overflow system going. It will have about 100 gallons of new water flow into it every day. It will overflow into my 385 gallon above ground, indoor pond which will overflow into my sump. From there the water will be pumped into the 600 gallon, over flow into the 180 and the 100 as well as back into the 385 gal pond and then back into the sump. Excess water will overflow out the sump, through the wall and into a 110 gallon pond that I use to water my plants.
This is a little map of how it is getting set up:

180 <--- 600 ---> <-- 94 <-- (Fresh water input)
:___ ____^_____ : : ___
:___ ____:_____ V V ___
V
100 --> Sump<--385
__________:_______________
(Old water output into outdoor 110 pond)

KEY: --- Water flow with corresponding direction of flow (< or >)
___
___ Stands

Numbers correspond to size and locations of tanks.

Hope this is clear.

Anyways, all the tanks and stand heights should be correct to allow for overflow. Getting the water levels correct in each tank is going to be tricky and crucial to prevent losing excess water as the sump could get too full when power is turned off.

Meanwhile, pond reinforcing needs to commence. However, I think I'd rather wait and stick a window in the side of the pond, or a 1000x's better yet: Screw putting any effort or money into the 385 and start building the big guys permanent home. Reality says though, I will be a lot happier to have the 385 looking nice as the big pond will take so long to build, I might as well get to enjoy it while I'm working in there.

So, thats it for right now. Have to get back to working on the computers.

(Edit: Map isn't posting the way I had initially wanted it. It's as decent looking as I could get it with my current limitations)

amazing tank and setup. I just read through this entire thread... and it was worth every penny. lol. I will wait very impatiently like the rest of the group for pic and vid updates.

Thanks for sharing. :)
