Hi Folks,

Well, Finally have items needed for my 75 gallon setup.. here are the starter pics.

Includes the custom stand and the tank. Tomorrow the 3d background from Designs By Nature SHOULD be here. I mean SHOULD because right now the package is stuck in Jacksonville Florida.. Reason: Pkg delay-add'l security check by gov't or other agency- beyond UPS control.

Anyways, I will be providing details and pictures during the setup :headbang2 .:nilly:

Setup:

75 gallon tank
white mix pool filter sand
AC110 & Eheim 2217.

Unfortunantly, I did not build it. a good friend of mine was nice enough to take on the task =)

Anyways, received the DBN 3d background today... Working on it now! Its a pain in the ass to cut, I need to trim it to fit the tank etc.

Pics to come later this evening.

Very nice stand. That is a good friend...you should start hitting him up to build a canopy!

Any idea what Tanganyika you are going to keep in it? I am partial to Fronts and Leleupis. Fronts would eventually outgrow the tank, but Leleupis could stay for life.

Keep the thread updated so we can see it!

@Brian

The tank stand is def awesome, he did a great job.

As for stocklist, No fronts or Leleupis. Basically going to be a community Tanganyika setup.

I have some of the stock list purchased already from DRF (Daves Rare fish) Purchased off his 20% off stock sale, hes holding until tank is cycled.

I fell asleep last night - pix will be up once im off work.

Background is 80% in the tank... I have Half of it cut and fitted into the tank, other half will be trimmed and set into the tank late tonight. Looks awesome hehe =)

Pic updates!

I will be working on the background more later this evening. Sadly, I had to trim 4 1/2 inches off the top of the background for it to fit inside the tank. It was really meant for a 90G

So cool. I need to make one of these for my 120.

so, question.

Im trying to cover the holes I cut for the filter intakes on the background...

went to local hardware store and picked up a POOL SKIMMER Filter..

its plastic... Would this be okay to cut and silicone behind the holes???

This background is really kicking my ass. Dont know if it is worth it... Better be =/

Was a pain to cut to fit in the tank.

Now, I am working on REMOVING silicon from the side of the tank, Went to silicone in the background - but instead of marking lines where it needs to be, I tried just doing it from outer edge of background.... Not going to work.

So, Moved the back ground which spread the silicone around on side of tank.

Trying to remove all the residue with vinegar / razor blade... pain in the ASS.
