MY 75gallon brackish-fish home.... PICS.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks everyone for all the comments. To answer some questions, I have a 130watt Coralife light and a 40watt acintic blue light turned on. I feared as much about destroying my plants with too much salt, and i was wondering, Miles - how much salt can a BGK tolerate on average?

how do you think that pool filter sand will look in here?
It would look excellent, but it looks like you've got a good thing going....dont change it unless you want to. Either way would look fantastic

:clap Very well Planted!! Keep up the good work!! :clap

Miles - any idea about my BGK question?

Well the Apternotus family is found in the amazon, which would mean they come from fairly soft water.. They may be adaptive, but a long term housing in these type of water conditions could be detrimentral. I recently inhrereted a 13" ghost knife, which is almost 9 years of age.. It has never been exposed to salt, so this might be an indication of a satisfying long-term environment.

I think you should set-up a secondary tank for soft-water fish, and that would open up some space in your brackish tank.. I would reccomend some type of gobies or maybe orange chromides, but you will have also have alot of options...

Beautiful setup bro, very well done. If you have a long piece of driftwood have it hanging out the tank and put insects on the tip to see your Archer shoot them down.
