I got the pool for $50, but shipping was around $45...I would have purchased it in the store, but they do not carry them this late in the season.
I looked around today for some plants but I didn't find anywhere that had nice looking relatively clean ones.
Oh yeah, CTU-I would trust the liner for all but the largest catfish spines. I don't think just brushing up would puncture it. I was actually thinking about getting a medium pleco or two...
