she is gorgeous!!!!
i was looking at one not so long ago until i did research and learnt that it would kill everything in my tank lol

Only what will fit in their mouth, which is deceivingly large.

One cool observation I've made is their ability to sort their gut content. They'll take in gravel when they suck in shrimp or what ever they're trying to inhale. They can regurgitate the gravel only, leaving the prey in. Too cool in my book.

Thanks... Thanks to bnoble too.

They can get up to 12" but I wouldn't expect that in captivity. They go for around $20. at 5" - 6" here. I haven't seen any babies here but I've seen pics of them from other people. I'm sure it's a seasonal thing.

ok wow thanx i expected them to be very expensive

I don't think they sell too well because they are sooo.... unique looking. LOL Most people think they are just ugly and don't appreciate their uniqueness.

omg i wanted 1 of those..also a freshwater lion and a freshwater flounder

That is a freshwater lion. It will eat the flounder unless it's quite big. I haven't seen a large FW flounder big enough in a store.

I just go tone of these in the shop I work in. I really want to take it home before someone buys it and throws it in a low pH freshwater tank. But I have small Brackish blennies, leaf fish, and a knight goby that would all be tasty morsels for it :(.

I could set it up by itself in my 10 gallon brackish tank as the current inhabitants are all basically big enough to go into the larger tank, but ill then have to figure out where to put it before it outgrows the 10g, lol.
