One of these days I'm going to get an Alli! Theyre so cool, been reading up on them a bit, and I think it would be fun to build an enclosure for one with a large water area and land are with lots of driftwood underwater and aquatic plants and such.

Skip on the land part. Only females come out of the water. and that is to lay eggs.
But definitley have some driftwood and floating plants.

no, put more fish fillet in there...resist the urge to feed live.

Its gone a few days without eating now. So how long do you think it can go without eating if it doesnt start taking filet? I dont want to starve it too long cause its small and needs alot of energy to grow.

Cool, but I thought they came out of the water to bask a little bit?

commons do
but gators dont.

Ok cool. But its still a good idea to have a UVB bulb right? Or would it really matter? I meen if its under water its not really getting UV Rays. But I thought I'd ask.

No its not necessary.
A proper varied diet and an incandescent bulb are sufficient.
Also its probably a good idea to take the turtle outside for a "walk" so it can get some natural sunlight.

Wow they stilll havent sold him.
Salsa, I was actually going to buy that turtle, but then i did some research and saw that gators were less agressive.

don't leave it without food for more than 3 days...she's a baby.
lets try another thing. catch a fish and hold it by its tail with a tweezer. lets see...

then lets try with a freshly dead fish, in the same manner.

So cool.

I would love to have one, but I don't know what the heck I would do when that thing is full grown.
