My Amatitlania Nanolutea and friends journal

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo

They always have a buy two get 3rd free (free one is same or lower than the least expensive one you ordered)

This is the second time I ordered from them. ATM their inventory is low with the virus and all. My first set have been in my tank for two years now.
Oh, yeah. I know that site.

they have nice wood. Never ordered though. Good deal.

Great vid!
In a tank that large/long you can get away with 3 schools. That something that can be tricky to pull off but iy looks good in you tank. :)
The nanos' are growing well!

Tank and fish look great Jex

My tank had an Ick out break last week but now they are all back to normal. The female is shy and in her little hide out most of the day but the male is cruising all over. Both of them will drive off the group of Firemouth when they get close. The female is a very picky eater and even spits out frozen bloodworms. She only looks at pellets while they sink to the ground right in front of her. NLS and Hikari Excel. The only thing she nibbles on here or there are regular flakes.

My males seems stressed in the cichlid community tank with all the other fish even though nobody bothers him. Stopped eating a few days ago and has stringy white poop. Stays pretty much in the same spot under a driftwood all day. Going to give it a few more days and if he doesn't come out of his funk I will take the pair out of the 180 and put them in the 80 planted with swordtails and mollies. Hopefully they keep the digging to a minimum and leave the plants alone

I'm sorry to hear.
Form the symptoms he probably has an internal parasite.

Those nanos are coloring up nicely, and the tank looks great.
And Reiner, I've also noticed nanos don't really do well in mixed cichlid communities, they are too easily intimidated into stress related health problems from normally benign bacteria.
Best in their own tank, with just dithers.

The female just started to come out of her shell and is actively feeding with the others and the male stopped. I guess I'll give them their own tank

Sounds like the best bet. From what I have gathered is they don't do well with other cichlids. Hopefully he will come around.
