doesn't matter what you go for with the 125, it's time to set it up and start cycling it.

i know this is old news but the reds will eat the gold. had that set up before it was like a 4 inch gold with like a 8 inch red and a 5 inch red. the big red bit the gold in half. my cousin had me hold the fish for a month when he moved and cycled his bigger tank

Yeah i sold the gold and am keeping my p's in the 30 still. My 125 is a soon to be ray tank

125 is going to be too small for any rays.

I would grab 10-12 more reds similar size and put them in the 125g. or mix them with some cariba and you won't regret it.

Shoulda kept the mac in the 30g, it would have been fine for him for a while and macs have a nasty attitude.

The 125 is a growout tank for my motoro. My original plan was getting more reds but i cant find a lot of them in similar size without breaking the bank.

I am a bit late but better late than never. The tank looks small, the decor looks cheezey and the water is cloudy. You just need a bigger tank and need some sand, some driftwood and some nice plants. At this point, i give it a 4/10 but only you can make it better

Ok if you go look in the stingray section i have pics of the tank with sand all set up for my ray. Its a lot better.

that's fine, you can still get caribes and ternetzi in there. it'll take a long time for them to get really big (a good few years) and most people will probably end up selling the fish before they really get HUGE. either way, make sure you post tons of pix

Reds [Of all species] grow faster than you probably think if kept properly. My Natts. grew to 8'' within a year. Granted, I know tricks for fast growth but they grow fast.

I'd keep no more than 6 in a 125 and scrap plans altogether of setting up a 55. A 55 is not a proper tank for mature Piranha in any numbers.

These are my 5 Natts at about 1.5 years. They grew this size in 8-12 months...
