nice setup.. good looking fish.. and with you aware of needing a larger tank i'm sure it should be fine.. but with an rtc prob a little pond is better than goin for a 10 ft tank.. cheers.. all the best mate..

I will be growing out the RTC for a friend while he is moving and until he settles in. Still smaller in size 6 to 8 inches.

Just curious.. Is there a certain combination of fish that make it a 'Jungle Community' tank... ?

Regardless of that, all your fish look healthy and happy.. props!

Call it a jungle cuz its not your typical recommended tank mates for the variety of fishes in it....I actually had blood parrots in it too, but they are currently rotated into my flowerhorn tanks for tank mates to play with.

That's a red belly, as in

LOL!!! Hopefully not!!! Currently about 13 inches. Largest I've seen in a friends tank was about 16 inches. We shall see how big the Pacu gets.

His size seems to give him more speed and maneuverability and has been aggressive at times.....believe it or not. I guess has learned to adapt to the environment.

Its not that I haven't experienced any casualties in the past, but the current assortment is living in harmony. Usually its either the Aro or flowerhorn that causes casualties or injuries in the past.

I'm glad your fish are coexisting; considering the size of both the aro and the ornate, I'd have thought the African cichlids and the bicolor shark would be gone by now.

I also have to stress the importance of a big tank, especially if you get an RTC. I don't think an RTC will be so harmonious, and the only thing I think it will be incapable of eating will be a full grown Pacu... but everything else in that tank will eventually be eaten. And Pacus have been measured at 40 inches, which makes a large tank all the more important. Good luck and I hope the harmony continues.

Nice community it's good your Aro dosen't trip on those small fish.
