My aro is in trouble!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
couldnt have said it better!

Could it be the water is too cold? Another thing I exprienced before is that I added some salt in too and raise temp and the fish is fine after awhile.:)

hey how's the aro doin? did the dosage change help at all? and to chompers, u'r mostly right about the petsmart thing. i work there as a second job to help pay for the addiction people call fish keeping. but most of the people there don't know a thing about fish accept they need to sell more salt to keep from getting yelled at, but i'd like to think i know my stuff and try to give the place a little better name.

Always a good idea to read entire thread before posting a reply:(

Chompers.... I am truely sorry for your loss.

I agree that salt helps a lot. In december he was seeming depressed and had his fins partly clamped. The water tested fine so I did a small water change and added salt. He instantly perked up so I have been keeping a partial dose of salt in there. When he started showing signs of stress, I gave the tank a full dose. This time he didn't respond. :(

I think the Pimafix or Melafix may have been extremely concentrated. Like a bad run at the factory. I have done two complete water changes and I can still smell the stuff. The only thing I didn't clean was the filters. They couldn't hold that much of the stuff so that is why I am thinking what is in the bottle must be highly concentrated.

that really sux...sorry to hear this. fish can be very unpredictable.
