My aro's diet what about yours!

Hey guys. we shall share our aro's diet here! I have 2 asian arowana (rtg & hbrtg) and a silver arowana. their current diet consist of gut loaded catfish, crickets and superworms! they are gut loaded with hikari jumbo carnisticks. only on the half hour before feeding i feed hikari jumbo carnisticks to them. if not I'll just leave a piece of cucumber for a source of moisture. but my asian aros don't seem to like superworms now, they were once mad about them. maybe is because the black crickets that I'm feeding that the asian aros are now mad with. crickets are lower in protein, so i have to gutload them with pellets and feed it together with catfish, catfish eats loads of jumbo carnisticks. the catfish can be a source of protein accompanied by the high calcium crickets. hope you guys can share your diet for your arowana!!! I purchased my arowana the beginning of Dec. Since then I have been feeding Hikari food sticks,cut up shrimp,tilapia fillet, and beef heart. I feed 2 times a day. I know it sounds crazy but i swear he grew 3in since then.

hey... i feed my 8-9" silver aro with market shripms with loaded pellets in it, he accepts massivore if broken into peices and also fresh silver sides.the red shrimps have given him a red tint which used to be yellow when i got him... ul see in the pics below..

how big are your aros? and do you feed them the catfish whole? and whats with the cucumber? sry mate ;with somany q's would love to serve them better ... cheers

34" silver and 18" green here eat market shrimp, smelt/silversides, and both especially love superworms!! they stopped eating pellets around the 2-3 year mark. I'll sometimes stuff some hikari pellets into the food.

Gar88, yes, i feed then whole feeder catfish. the cucumber acts as a source of liquid for the crickets.
