My arowana tank stock list

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok I'll stay away from discus. They are to expensive to mess with. I'll remove any fish once it outgrows the tank. Any ideas to which specis of geophagus or severum I should look into?

those tiger barbs are appetizers..and idk about the whole thing for a stock list..

I'd switch the shovelnose for a smaller cat. A Juruense will not grow as large and still has some of the characteristics of the TSN.
Some are food, some aren't but really a bad mix IMO.
4 tiger barbs (2.75")
1 shovelnose (36-40")
2 angelfish (12")
1 cuckoo synodontis (6")
3 clown loaches (16")
1 Pleco (depending on which, commons can get past the 24" mark)
1 5" silver arowana (36")

What do you mean by "remove" I know what you are thinking sounds good right now, but large fish are EXTREMELY hard to give away for free. I suggest you give the fish away while still small and purchase something more manageable for you situation.

Well I can always bring the large fish to a Lfs which have large tanks to house the fish until they are sold. If that doesn't work it shouldn't be to hard to find some one in new York city with a large enough tank. The way I look at it these fish are Lucky enough to have a 180 gallon tank.

Just added some geo.surimensis and a teacup Colombian stingray. Looks like I am about done stocking.

I have just called the local aquarium in coney island and they said that they usually will take donations of large fresh water fish. They have a huge exhibit there and it would be good to see the aro have a good home. I really have my heart set on the silver and have put this 180 together just for it. I plan to take good care of it and relocate it once it outgrows the tank. Hopefully that will be years from now. I will post pics of the juvenile fish asap. Btw the shovelnose is about 4" long at the moment. Do they grow fast? I saw it in the lfs in a 10 gallon tank so I think this is a significant improvement.
