Hi Tiguriuns,

I just went to check my Tigers just now, you know they are still munching away, it seems to me that they are growing almost everyday.
2 pcs out of the 4 have flourish, while the other 2 seems to grow v slowly.
My alpha is really big now, almost an inch bigger than the smallest, way off balance already.

Really good to see their stomach filled everyday. But still a little off those Vittatus at CF. I don't know how long will it take for a Goliath to hit 2 foot, or is it possible at all in captivity?? I do have many questions I started to want to ask

Once I get my tank ready and the lightings up, I invite you over my house to take a look. Like to see yours too.

Hi Mike,

Thanks:)
Read about your fish adventure on another post much earlier on, on the Armatus.

Any updates for this Armatus?

Luc

Well I am very frightened right now because I am moving to a new house this weekend and this means catching a 13'' Armatus to begin with ( it made me bleed when it was 4" from a bite as they go crazy when in a net and bite at anything..worse than any piranha that I have ever netted so I fear it may remove my arm or something lol) and you know they don't transport very well and then into a new setup that will only have been running 1 week. I hope this goes well. I am bringing some of my original water to start a culture in the tank. I can only get pics after I move as the camera has been packed. Awesome fish though. At 13" it is swallowing 5" goldfish easily so I don't want to imagine what he'll be eating at 20"+. Your Goliaths are amazing. I really hope the group thing works out.they look really nice together. I hope one day to be fortunate enough to get one. Please keep us updated.:)

Hi MikeC,

Think these Armatus really grow fast, from a scrawny little guy last year til now, 13 inches. I think Armatus is really very similar to Piranhas, that will bite thru' the net, I think for transportation, it is good to use some tranquilizer or some ice to stabilise this guy down before catching it?

There are plenty of GATF in SG right now, over stocked, which means after this round, it is even much harder to see them again. For Armatus, yet to see one in SG yet so far, if there is, I will pack everything.

2ft? Yup I think can but at least about 2years...It seem like you power feed them..it better not to have other type of tankmate...last time i got other fish so growth rate slower...for me if got sell big ones eg 1ft i rather get big ones if no defect...like my big one suddenly gone mad and as if it want to jump out of the water so it damage abit of the mouth..but they say it will recover to 100%. I think the grow rate is much faster if kept solo or perhaps only the same kind...ok let me know..PM me when i can drop by..

This morning I finally had a closer look at them, 2 pcs kinda "bearded". The lower jaw a big damaged because of the jumpiness.
I would say, fishes such as this are really not for normal hobbyists. Can see from far and cannot hug.......with great deal of endurance to reach the imagined or desired.

I read from a thread that says, even a 10 incher and ram agaist the wall and die, if tank too small, meaning we perpetually have to maintain tank-to-fish-proportioned size tank.

Well did you put any plants??? I can see mine at close range no problem.. just dun suddenly on and off the light... it will heal dun worry... my guess is when they reach a size their bone will be much stronger and will not get damage easily... so that why i perfer to get a 1ft or bigger good condition GATF...I ever seen CF with 1 quite big but was sold... the body look perfect no damage only the tail side not so red... perhap it the background.

I think too big a tank also problem. I have not put in the plant yet, but I have a few pcs of driftwood.

I think from many of you guy's pics, big Goliath is still jumpy. Maybe this jumpiness will go away when it reaches maturity or it never will.

Is your powerhead affect him? Or he knows he is no longer in the hottest seats.
