Hope you aren't attached to those tankmates...he still has a lot of growing to do. and in case you happened to miss this:

No matter how long they have been together, something can happen at any second. In your case, its most likely you'll lose the gar's tankmates since he is going to grow a lot more and they are pretty much full grown. Taking what happened to Miguel's CK and what my pacu did to my gar, I would say you have a bad combination going.

yeah it feels so good that i got a complement from you :D

no problem:) as said above, knives might be in danger, but i believe the cichlids can hold their own. i had my 9" jag hold off the 20" gator for months.

how would that jag have made out when that gator would have hit 36"...or 48"??

I had a 2 foot gattor try and eat a 2 foot gigas ( I seperated them in time), needless to say I now only keep gattors with other gattors.

i would like to know the same thing. IMO its like adding aggressive cichlids or pacu with the more peaceful and smaller gars, may work for a while but will eventually more than likely end in disaster and an injured fish.

like said many times before, gators are natural born killers.

i think the jag would have grown as well...:) as for 48", i'm thinking i would have had the sense to re home one of them:)

Whoaaa demjor, i did miss this thread with carnarge done to your florida gar. Sorry to see that. I am re-considering trying to introduce pacus to my set-up (though that begs the quesiton of what to do with them).

Yohan, with two threads about carnage and death - you might want to reconsider alternative arrangements. Though i suppose it is unlikely pacu will outgrow your gator ... CK on the other hand is likely to end up fish food for gar.
