p's need lots of filtration and lots of water chgs if you want your tank to be clean, and your fish to be happy, at least twice as much as the average fish and i think more if your feeding them live food

looks like the tank isn't cycled. I'd remove those red devils asap

I've Had RBP before, about 10 of them. in a 55.

IMO, Your better off getting a Canister Filter that will have a good amount of water being cleaned.

If your feeding live (which is what i did) it's gonna get messy and the water will foul with HOB filters.

AT the time i HAD 2 Huge Whisper HOB filters and had to clean them out all the time.

Water was always cloudy and the Substrate always Dirty with fish remains and Feces.

Just IMO tho.

Good Luck

The tank may be cloudy because its not fully cycled. I had a penguin 350 HOB for my 75G with 5 large P's. Crystal clear water, 1 water change a week with a gravel vac.
You don't need an INSANE amount of filtration if you maintain your tank.

IMO with 3 reds in a 55 you don't need a canister. You can't go wrong with extra filtration, but that doesn't mean its a requirement.

alright, first things first....get us a closeup of one of the fishes...
from the very first pic they looked like red belly pacu's
