My Beani's..... Pics!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi folks:
I wanted to share a couple of pics of my young beani, these guys live in a 135 gallon tank 3 adults and 6 younger ones. All live peacefully and I am waiting any minute now for WWIII. but so far so good- all wild. In fact, in two weeks I'll be collecting more, hope for the gold morph.
saludos

Jose... thanks for sharing! The ones we got from you are doing well..... well, except for one of mine.... didn't quite make it a day or so after shipping.

ARE THESE GUYS AGGRESSIVE @ AN EARLY JUVIE STATE OR THEY CO-EXIST WHEN THEY ARE GROWN OUT TOGETHER?

it's funny you ask that, famous.
i thought these guys were going to rip each other apart, but apparently there are some people who are keeping them somewhat successfully in a pseudo community. i say pseudo because it's not as if anyone really gets along...
i keep all of mine separated though... don't want to risk anything.

the tanks must be big then huh to house these guys in a community i could see them co-existing if there are enough places to hide and to claim as their own territorial reign

It's hit and miss.... I keep my larger ones separated bc they go at it thru the dividers, I can only imagine what they will do to eachother without the divider! I've kept the smaller ones with 6 Istlanum growouts, the smallest being 1" for the last 3 months.... no torn fins, no casualties..... knock on wood. I've slowly separated the larger fish though.... largest being 3". BTW, the tank is only a 60 gallon. You saw them when you were here getting the Dovii's.
