It's hit and miss.... I keep my larger ones separated bc they go at it thru the dividers, I can only imagine what they will do to eachother without the divider! I've kept the smaller ones with 6 Istlanum growouts, the smallest being 1" for the last 3 months.... no torn fins, no casualties..... knock on wood. I've slowly separated the larger fish though.... largest being 3". BTW, the tank is only a 60 gallon. You saw them when you were here getting the Dovii's.

yeah i know house but i kind of got lost in your fish room from the amazing fronts to the stunning red tiger motas i liked your grammodes so i picked up some juvies you inspire me man:grinno: i thought about picking up some beani but doing some search on here makes me think twice because of the agressiveness i understand it's a hit or miss but what are the odd's of a hit oppose to a miss i just can't take the gamble

Thanks for the free plane ticket Sean!! JK! For me, becuase it was the 1st cichlid I had seen in nature back in 1993. So I wanted them, way before all the hype. But honestly the ones I have that are now about 7 inches, look beautiful!

Because my friends are a bad influence on me and talk me into spending a lot of money so they can save on shipping costs! True story!

You don't have to make multiple posts, one for each quote you respond to.

Amazing beani. I'd love to keep this species some time.
