No harm done i just dont know y people get so serious about the label on a fish.... I m just glad that they r turning out the way they r.... Hopefully they last long for me and i can enjoy them for awhile.....

Exactly, idk why some people have to bash other peoples fish. If it makes you happy, that's all that matters!

Ive learned a couple years ago that the actual label of F0, F1 or whatever isnt really that important. I put so much emphasis on it because i thought that if i bred F0 fish that i could be more competitive selling F1 fry vs the other guy. But what ive learned is that any F1 is just as good as an F0 fish and most of the time its nicer looking and healthier too. And as long as fish are kept unrelated and spawned thru generations then the generation is irrelevant as well. Because in my mind if a pair of F5 fish have been bred from unrelated parents and so on that they in my mind are just as clean as any F0. So i look for unrelated fish for my breeding projects and im not the first to jump on F0 fish any more. Another reason is that most true F0 fish have health issues and need quarantining and meds and on and on, whereas F1 are domesticated and have far less of a chance being sick.

But the main reason i get upset about labeling, just me personally. Is because if i am buying something, I expect it to be exactly what i paid for. I respect the truth and if someone really doesnt know what the fish is, i appreciate it more knowing that and making my own decsision about purchasing without being lied to:) I dont wanna buy a Dovii and it turn out to be a Jag. Or i dont wanna buy an F1 and it turn out to be F100, moslty because i advertise what it was sold as and dont like to look like a fool! so i tend to get myself caught up in those discussions:) I apologize about that. And reguardless of the label, i have learned more about what to look for in a festae to determine quality, which has helped me out alot. And i dont like being the guy that has to say something about someones fish being less than quality, id rather not say anything which is why i started the quality vs trash thread hoping that people wiil do their own research and come to their own conclusion.

I too hope that festae will be spread around, but healthy, quality;)

The Tumbes River isn't in Ecuador. It's just that the 2 countries call it something different.
Peruvians called it Tumbes. Ecuadorians call it Puyango. Different dialects.
