nice...out of curiosity at what size diff. did you put the ck in with them, cause i am riding the fence with my ck...i just put it in and am rethinking the idea as my kitties have grown more then i thought...

The knife was about 16-17" and the cats were about 8ish... The knife has not grown as much as I was hoping he would in the last year. He's only grown about 2-3 inches. Hopefully he'll keep growing. Worst case scenario, he stays in the 600 when the cats outgrow it. I have a silver knife that I've had from a baby and he's got to be about one year old and 15" so there you have a huge range in growth. Maybe he'll suddenly slow down, but I don't know.

I love the 4th pic.
Awesome tank and fish.

What's with the arrows and x on the tank?( 1st pic)

This end up.... ;) j/k They mark every 12 inches in hopes that I could get a measurement on the cats, but they wouldn't get right up against the glass and so it didn't work very well.

That is so cool! All those big cats in one tank:WHOA::drool:
We'll see how long they last in there before they need to be upgraded. They are in a 600 gallon and comfortable now at about 20-27". They are very active because of this space, and their little personalities really show because of it. As adults, they will pretty much need a shallow swimming pool to live comfortably.

Which cat is the most active during the day? Keep the pics coming.

is that a tiger shovel/rtc?

i have been starting the wrong end then....my cats and knife were 8" at the same time now the knife is 12" ish and the cats are 16-20" i am riding the fence if i can keep them in the same tank like you got, on the size diff. with mine...i may have to grow the knife out more and wait for the pond to mix them idk...i put the knife in with the cats now to see, but idk:nilly:...not to derail your deal;) but ya know? you might have the same deal going on with you other knife, going in the big tank...

They are all totally active during the day. When they were little, the niger cats were more active at night. But, now, they are at the front of the tank following me around begging for food.

I can post more. I just wasn't sure how much is too much.

Yep. That is a 24-25" RTCxTSN that we won at the August 2008 SoCal meet at a 3-3.5". :)

Currently everyone is comfortable. The silver knife is in the 180 gallon, and will be comfortable there until everyone in the 600 needs to be upgraded. I'm not sure the knife fish will always be able to be in with the cats. We'll see.

i know of atleast 1 person on here with 40" rtcs and tsns with 2 cks with them in the pond...but anyway your cats are awsome and i can't wait to see more pics and vids...how fast did the giraffe get that big? i have seen some at like 3-4" that have cought my eye

Yeah, I know it can be done, but I'm not sure the gold one will ever grow enough. The silver, it will be a matter of time before he catches up. The giraffe cat I got about 9 months ago at 15-16". He's at least 20" now, but its is mass that has REALLY grown. He's at least doubled his weight since I've gotten him. He's still growing at a nice space and is probably going to always keep up with the big cats just because he's got a lot of attitude. He runs the tank even though he's smaller than others or doesn't possess sharp hooks on his sides. FYI, I got two different catfish both considered to be giraffe cats. One is much smaller with different patterning. He's a different species and not growing nearly as quickly. He's only about 9" or so and has grown about 1 inch since I've gotten him. They've lived in two separate tanks that were plumbed together, and on the same diet. I had to separate them due to the big guy pounding on the little one all the time. I have to look again at which species is which. I should get photos up on a separate thread about this.
