I got a shot of my giraffe to match yours :) NOM NOM your is way better though :)

Cool! Love these guys! I want to see more pics!:)

My Bernard has always mouthed the glass anyways, but he (and the other cats) LOVE it when I rub my fingers on the glass so that there is a small amount of vibration. He comes swimming over to check it out. If I'm looking for a group shot, that usually is a good tactic.

Geoffrey likes when I make kissy faces at his level. If he's being still, I will stick my face to the tank and do the "fishy-kissy". And he gets super excited and starts swimming zig zigs lol. I will have to take some better pictures of him tonight, but here are a few of him loving his buddy :) Is yours super clumsy? And does he tend to piggy back other fish? It's almost like hes doing it to piss them off, and will glide above them as they swim. Mainly to the plecos, and to the JD, and his RTC buddy.

I think the sitting on top of thing is a dominance behavior. I have found that he really only does it to fish that are a threat to his dominance in the tank. He leaves everyone else alone. I hadn't thought about it until I heard of stingrays doing it. As I started watching who he was doing it to, I concluded that's why he was doing it to specific fish. He also like to bite them as well. Fortunately, those mouths weren't designed for damage. He tries really hard to bite their sides. I think at most he manages to rub off some slime coat.

As for the face thing... I'm so glad you admitted to that! Bernard really gets going when I open and close my mouth at him and flex my fingers at him. I'm not sure if he thinks its a challenge or if I just consistently do it when I'm about to feed. Either way, he thinks its super interesting.

You have what most of us dream about. Kudos on the tank.

Thank you. The tank was something I had been wanting for a long time. Who needs a new car? I've got a fish tank!

Yep, he has gill curl and a serious perma-stoned look on his face (deformed upper jaw I'm assuming). That's how he got his name, Joker. He was like this when I picked him up back in August at 2-3 inches. He is not topping out around 9-10 inches. He may not look as good as other normal RTC's but he has a great home, eats like a pig, and is growing and putting on weight nicely :) I found Jenns method of gill curl treatment to be very interesting and I am going to try this on him to see if it will help him. At first I thought he was a mix of something, but I don't think he is at all. I like his smile though and he is getting such a personality. We may know that he has issues, but he sure doesn't.

First off, this is why I say its a good thing he went to you. I think he's just an RTC that isn't quite physically right, but well love and care for so he'll do well.

If he's had gill curl the whole time, I'm not sure how it will work. I've only tried on fish that have recently gotten. If you decide to try it, tell us if it works.

Thanks Jenn, I like to think that too :) I will definitely tell you his progress (if any).

If you got a minute could you tell me what pangasius your newest rescue is? Nice looking fish by the way, your tank makes me feel small.
