I Just had the Biggest Flood EVER!
I just got done cleaning the 210 and was filling it up, it was almost full, turned on the sump and all of a sudden I saw the Queen Arabesq (I'm selling this one on Wed. and wanted to transfer to a smaller tank so I wouldn't go crazy digging around last min.) so I went after her and brought her over, that was fine, but the trouble began when I decided to measure her and then take a picture! WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING!!!
Once I ploped her in the tank and turned around...
:WHOA::WHOA::WHOA::WHOA::WHOA::WHOA::WHOA::WHOA:
I realized what I had done.
Towels, lots of towels, and I shut the pumps off of corse. There was still water filling the overflow which was overflowing, so I was siphoning water out from the top, with a python, and mannualy siphoning water out from the sump into a 5gal bucket. Another thing I didn't realize was I had actually not turnned the valve on the python all the way(being in a state of panic:nilly:) and was waiting for the sump to empty when all along it was still filling!
I finally figured out what was wrong and stopped the water from overflowing. WHEW!
I have wood floors, My thermostat for my heater is soaked, and all because I wasn't paying attention, I also had music playing, Very LOUD.
So, when cleaning your tank, make that your biggest priority and don't pay attention to anything else because this can and will happen!:irked:

Wow, at least you didn't feel the needs for a big mac too.

you've got to have a few floods before you're really good at it :)

Guess you learned a tough lesson. Atleast you didn't drop the fish.

you know what lol? that sucks haha.

:WHOA:

You know, I've been on other forums lately that pertain to reptiles, insects, etc.
And none of them have the personality that MFK has, really,
MFK Rules,you guys are awesome!

i flooded my bedroom to once.
i accidently took my air hose and stone off the wall for a minute or two
and my fluval sucked the hose under the intake and my fluval flooded my room
i was trying to figure out why the water was coming out, then i seen the air hose and
unpluged the filter and it was an overall pretty noobin' situation lol.
