im pretty puzzled

by its self...

**the cellphone pictures are pretty crappy**
other info...

i feed my bichirs frozen shrimp(smallest i can find) thawed first and tilapia (fresh)

there in a 29g tall and theres 3 sen bichirs and 3 syno catfish. a 40g HOB filter and water changes every week give or take a few days. sand on the bottom.

the bichir thats fat is a year old

i am assuming the worst but just figured id see if anyone else can shed some light on this

thanks in advance

Small tank for a bircir but to me it looks like he/she has dropsy which can be caused by stunted growth, bad water quality, and a whole lot more. I would put him in a hospital tank and treat it with dropsy meds which u can buy online. I had a fish with dropsy once but sadly....he died :(....Good luck

ok i have a older (about 2 years old) sen bichir that grew up in the tank. and another bichir i bought the SAME day as the fat one and there just fine... and the bichir in question got fat two days ago... im not trying to argue i just dont think thats what caused this...

Are all of the other fish acounted for? could he of ate any decorations, etc..?

nothings missing, or ate. the only thing i can think of is that the fish i gave them was bad... il take a full tank picture to show you guys... im still super confusfbjejed

i swear its getting fatter and fatter or maybe im just going crazy... ha

Pretty good vocab for a 13 y.o. MFK.haha.jk but ya i would make sure that u had the same amount of fish that u had 2 days ago. I had 5 goldfish in a 20g(way to small)for about a year...once they started getting bigger i upgraded to a 55g. and only one of those 5 fish had dropsy(my ryukin) so im just sayin not ALL of the fish will get it but its most definitely possible that 1 out of 5 can get it......and im not tryin to argue either ;) and i said that stunted growth is a "Possibility"
