Yes I am almost certain it is. The fins haven't developed yet thats why there isn't any color but I do see a very small white edge on the fin. Blue Acara's also have orange edged fins as well. Yeah my little terror eats Blood Worms out of my hand as well and I have only had him 2 days. He was the most colorful in the tank and was beating down a jag 2 1/2 times the size of him along with various other GT's. He already has bright orange fins at 2" or less! With awesome color on his face. He is the first 2" glassbanger I have ever had lol.

I agree with your GT assessment. :grinyes:

btw the is a hybrid of green terror there are s**t loads over here due to some breed who has spread them around. they are easyly tell able but i do no alot about these i have a 2 male blue acara and a male green terror and getting more soon.
heres my best blue acara male......taken about 5months ago haha he looks like a baby.FINALLY I CAN POST PICS(sorry about the outburst-my other internet got fixed today)
get more pics i will most likey to be able to tell the sex of it:D

Well that kinda sucks, I was really hoping it was a blue acara. Looks like I'm gonna have to start savin some money for a bigger tank!

Oh wow! That's a nice one! Definitely not the more usual A. pulcher or A. coeruleopunctatus. ;)

The problem of comparing blue acara to blue acara is that you are often not looking at the same species. Besides the usual two, A. pulcher and A. coeruleopunctatus, you could buy yourself some "blue acara" and end up with either A. latifrons or A. sapayensis...and that's not counting undescribed species or hybrids.

heres another pic to compare to urs of my blue acara. but its hard to tell from your pics wut exactly it is. but im gonna go with prolly a dull gt or cross between gt and acara.

This thread has gotten me into Blue Acara. I think I am going to pick one up tomorrow for my 40 gallon. I don't think it will last long with my 6.5" male Salvini already in there but time will tell.

Yeah sals are AWESOME! Mine is a mass murderer though. Killed everything I ever put with him except his buddy Peanut ( convict). They swim together and are always in the same cave digging away but they are both males :screwy: lol!

Yours looks more like A. pulcher, not a GT.
It's really hard to find a way to pin down identification methods of the species when they can look quite different even within the same species. Only way you'd know for sure would be location of origin as all 4 "blue acara" species come from different locations but the chances are that are unlikely.

This was my "blue acara". I'm convinced she was an A. coeruleopunctatus even though I had no idea where she might have come from.
