My breeding trio of W/C Synspilus

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Great fish and thanks for the pics.

I got mine at 1 1/2" dec 2006. They bred in November 2007 the first time. I raised 300 from that batch. Gave about 150 of them away and put the rest in the big tank where there are about 100 adults left ranging from 6 or 7" to about 13". They have bred in the big tank so it is a large shoal of one of the nicest central american cichlids.

I have the original 13 adults bought in 2006 in the 15k with a few babies born in the tank.

Don Conkel is a very nice guy and I enjoyed talking with him again at the OCA last November in Strongsville Ohio. He is pretty amazing with the size of his company and his collecting skills considering he is an amputee.

I pull the eggs 3 or 4 hrs after they are through laying using a deep dish to keep the egg under water during the transfer to the 10gl.Which is fill with the water from the breeder tank and myth blue. Here is a picture of how I hatch them out.
