My C.121 Corydoras Breeding Project--GREAT SUCCESS!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No viable fry out of this batch, I'm sorry to say. They are still in the 20g by themselves and the females are full of eggs again so I'm expecting them to spawn any day now.
All the previous eggs either weren't fertile or fell victim to fungus (despite treatment with methylene blue). Next batch I am collecting asap and separating them in a 2.5 gallon with an airstone and heavy dose of methylene blue.

Here is the breeding tank:

Please ignore fake plants (they are in there so they can put their eggs on them) and ghetto heater and huge sponge filter. 3D background is nice though, no? :D

Sweet! Hope you get lots of little fry :)

I have promised a few people already, but at some point point yes.

Yeah you have! You promised your firstborn! (cory) :naughty: GL bro.

Yes, they hatched this time. Had some problems with the cheapo breeder container and they all escaped into the tank. Moved the adults to my 33 to give them a chance. I'm not expecting a high survival rate out of this batch, but I know these corys are breeding every 3 weeks, AND now that I've hatched the eggs they are proven breeders, so I'm not too worried.
Next time I will move the eggs to a little 5 gallon or something, where I can monitor them more closely. 20 gallon long is just too big for how small these fry are.

Congrats bro! I sure you are able to see a few, I want some! You can move a few to my 10 gallon if you want? Pristine water and they will have a good shot at survival.
