V-6 Altimas, Accords, and even Camrys are faster accelerating. There are many FWD Saabs and Volvos that are quite the torque-steer machines. Regardless, FWD is not justified by snow. If you have snow there, get AWD. In the Sierra Nevada, FWD is not enough. (You can get 8 feet or more of snow during a single 2-3 day snowstorm.) FWD cars are appliances, IMO, not performance cars. If I ever buy a FWD car, it will be an economical and practical one like a Honda Fit. Otherwise, I will stick w/ my AWD Subaru, 4WD truck, and RWD Karmann-Ghia. My wife even drives a RWD Miata.
The V-6 Altima, Accord, and Camry are all capable of 6 second flat or sub-6 0-60 times when equipped with a manual transmission. The Redline Ion is in the high 6s 0-60, similar to the Civic Si. The other cars may be family sedans, but they are faster. The Impreza is still in production, but it is AWD. The Acura TL is probably the fasted FWD car right now with 0-60 times in the mid/high 5s.ewurm;755889; said:Neon SRT is not in production. Redline is. And Altima, Accord, and CAMRY? LOL. If the Impreza is still in production that's in the neighborhood, but forget the Camry and those other Sedans. You didn't even mention the Civic Si, which I would have mentioned before those corporate S-boxes.
