Exactly. All other factors being equal, power to weight ratio (actually lbs/hp, but every calls it "power to weight") is the best determinant of acceleration. The 1990-94 Maximas weighed around 3200 lbs and packed only 160 hp (20 lbs/hp). The Saturn Ion Redline weighs just under 3000 lbs and has 200 hp (15 lbs/hp). Advantage Saturn, even though I think it's a FWD appliance just like the 1991 Maxima.

The FWD aside, go and drive one. It's the fastest front wheel drive in production. We have snow here, so FWD is required, unless you want two cars. For a stock unit, there aren't many on the road that offer the performance vs. price of the Redline.

You're preaching to the wrong guy. I don't do FWD. And the Ion Redline is not the fastest FWD in production. The Neon SRT-4 was much faster. V-6 Altimas, Accords, and even Camrys are faster accelerating. There are many FWD Saabs and Volvos that are quite the torque-steer machines. Regardless, FWD is not justified by snow. If you have snow there, get AWD. In the Sierra Nevada, FWD is not enough. (You can get 8 feet or more of snow during a single 2-3 day snowstorm.) FWD cars are appliances, IMO, not performance cars. If I ever buy a FWD car, it will be an economical and practical one like a Honda Fit. Otherwise, I will stick w/ my AWD Subaru, 4WD truck, and RWD Karmann-Ghia. My wife even drives a RWD Miata.

Give me your fastest drag time on your supra, with you as the driver.
RWHP, and HP to the crank dyno sheets.
Weight

And total of money spent including the car to reach these specs.

And to top it off, your reason why that car is a better choice then a moded, say...cressida with a 1jz at the drag strip.

Once i get that info, then i will judge you like real drivers do.

sr20 swaps are as basic as putting in another stock motor, it already came designed to fit in the car, all u gotta do is put it in.
