my Carpinte, what variant is he?

Is there a chance that with time and age, ther be pearls build up all around the mouth?

Im also looking for another one or two Escondidos. Let me know if you or someone you know have one for sale around ca, 91744.

Please comment and tell me what variant. Is it an escondido? It is a she btw

i think its chariel. Escondido at that size has at least 4 dark spots while chariel only has 1 in middle of the body and 1 on the tail. It also lacks wormy markings on face. Anyways very nice pearl already, you are expecting more?
having a black blotch on its dorsal doesn't always mean that its female, males are usually dull on the face.

Looks to be Escondido. He's more blue pearl, so that's what I'm guessing.

Looks like your standard pet store Carpintis. Impossible to know the local if it wasn't listed when you purchased it. That is definately not an Escondido.

Can easely be a mix of several carpinte.

I have a pair from the same batch and tank, one looks like an escondido, but other has no worming what so ever, and very small pearls

I might be wrong tho.

Face Pattern.. I agree. But what base color is an Escondido? Mine's like a bronze/gray/mustard color.

Escondido's have more of a red/maroon base color. Regular Carpintis have a yellowish base color. Both are excellent fish and look great as adults.

ok. Which texas have the wormy pearls instead of spot pearls at the face? Do they all or only Escondidos? Mine have wormy pearls at the face.
