i think its chariel. Escondido at that size has at least 4 dark spots while chariel only has 1 in middle of the body and 1 on the tail. It also lacks wormy markings on face. Anyways very nice pearl already, you are expecting more?
having a black blotch on its dorsal doesn't always mean that its female, males are usually dull on the face.
It depends what you consider a different variant. Every river has something a little different. Escondido's are nothing more then a certain collection location.
It would still be a carpintis. They are all carpintis. You will however no longer have the pure wild line that you would find in a certain river. You essentially would have an aquarium strain carpintis. That is why it is best to always keep the collection local with the fishes name so that lines can be tracked.
why wish? I personally think that lahillas is ugliest carpintis among, they have smaller spots and so much space between pearls, its pearls are slightly bigger than true texas.
