luda - snakeheads do indeed love hiding in and amoung plants ,esp. hanging out under floating plants , but as micros get larger there size makes them quite clumsy in the confines of a tank , so when they have a mad half hour they often up-root the plants and you end up replanting every two minuites . you done the right thing by planting it now and giving the plants time to get a good root system , as they grow they will still probably uproot or damage the more delicate plants but the more robust ones should be ok . anyway time will tell which ones will be ok and which ones not . if you struggle to get floating plants you could try planting something like giant vals at each end of the tank and allowing them to grow up the sides and then accross the surface .
also as they get over a couple of foot they tend not to hide anymore when in the tank and loose there shyness ,so then the plants will not be so important , allough floating cover will still help with them trying to jump
