Updated photo of my male P Panamensis from the other day. Have had this dude for 18 months, is about 5.5" now. Great fish, will always keep this guy.

That's a stunning panamensis Swami, I can see why you want to keep hold of him.
So the 55 gallon acrylic tank I have is 15" wide. I had it on an 18" stand with a board across the top, but after a while the board was beginning to warp a bit. I know how important it is for acrylic tanks to be 100% supported over time to avoid stress cracks, etc... so I set up my other acrylic tank, a 50 gallon, and swapped the fish over. Kept the scaping simple, lots of open room for the fish to swim, and they all seem comfortable. I am doing easy low-tech live plants, in this tank, and will be adding more soon.

Did you get rid of the istlanum? I think istlanums are my favorite. Id love to be able to get a green for the rarity but the red are stunning. Very underrated
I did sell the istlanum due to a move months back, not wanting to have to move with live fish. I agree they are a great species to keep, I will probably have another in the future
