hi there
laitely my cilichids have been dying so far only 5 but it seems to hapen nearly every night either 1 or 2 its really starting to worry me as i love my fish and dont want to lose any more.

i think reason might be from the shock of the light being turned off and on through out the night from my parents.
caus they seem to only die at night and when i turn on my light i find one dead near the plants. could this be the reason this has only just started hapening within the past week i dont have a ph test kit atm but i will buy asap.

i dont understand why its just started happening when ive had these fish for a few months.
any help would be very aprechiated
also if it helps one of the dead fish (benga peackock i think) had a largish red dot on were the tail meets the body.??

these fish are all fry max 4-5cm long.
please help
cheers daniel:(

they all seem normal the only things thats change sinci ive bought them is some dont like hanging around with there own group
i have found a couple still alive they were laying on the bottom heavily breathing and when i pick them up they would try to swim for a second then slowly float back to the bottom

Sounds like a water problem. When was your last water change.Whats your stocking level tank size and filtration

last water change was atlest 4 days ago i had in there 19 small fry in a 3ft the but 5 have died soo i have 14 in there and i have no idea what the filtration is its not too fast but it sucks up all the poo and most of the left over food
also ther is alot crushed flakes thats made it to the bottom could too muh kill them

Yes that could be a problem. You cleaned the filter recently?Plus hoovering the bottom of your tank will get rid of the waste.Sounds like a spike causing it.

He has said he hasnt any water test kits

i cleaned the filter yesterday caus it was filthy later im gonna do another water change and clean the whole bottom with the vaccum i just think its wierd that they only die at night time
