I had no idea a clown fish was capable of leaping from a tank I have a 55 gallon with no cover is this bad? I found him wedged on a chair that he leapt into to... Anyone ever see this happen before?:(

Eh, my tank evaps at the same rate with a lid off.

But ya, lids in general are a good idea.

My lids off right now cause it got so covered in salt creep and algae that it was blocking light.

found my firefish like that, luckily he did it right in front of me and not when i wasn't home...

though they are a little more predisposed to that than clowns are...

whenever possible include a lid or canopy of some kind

I have lost a clown, flame hawk, valentini puffer, and blenny to jumping over the last 2 years. I don't use cover so light is better, plus evap is no prob, shame about the fish tho.

Ya it was the first day using no lid because I got new lighting and didnt want to have it cut down on the amount of light my corals were getting...Oh well mistakes happen...

I like the look of my open tank also, wont change it. So for me jumping is just a risk i have to take.
