How's it going guys? I've learned a lot reading from this site so I decided to join MFK today. I love keeping bichirs. Here is my collection. I hope to learn more through discussion with you guys. Forgive me for my poor photography skills. Everyone is full from eating whole anchovies.

My fat Endlicheri.

My Congicus and two Lapradei (don't know what variants the Laps are). The darker Lap had cloud eye when I bought it last week. I have been keeping up water changes and it has been clearing up slowly.

A very rare photo op of my Ornate who just hides in the driftwood all day.

Had to use my phone light to be able to snap a picture of my Delhezi.

Now it is clear from this photo that the two Laps have different patterns. Would anyone be willing to identify what variants they are? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the crew. Nice group. Especially like the endli's patterns and the congicus. I love that yellowish/blond color.

What type of sand is that ? How big are the polys ?

Oh yeah is that an acrylic tank ?

The guy in the first pic looks like he really enjoyed his meal. Must of been some tasty anchovies... How big are they all? And more importantly, do they have names?! :D

And welcome. May you enjoy your time here as much as I have. :)

Thanks for the welcome and the compliments! The sand is pool filter sand I got from Home Depot. The average size is around 12" and nope its glass.

Haha he's always chubby. I think it may have to do with the fact that its the only one I raised from a baby so its been spoiled for a while. I usually don't name my fish, but since I have started the process of selling my peacock bass in order to focus in Polypterus I think it would be a good time to start. Thanks for the welcome :) I'm sure I will enjoy my time here.

Hello welcome to bichir gang, lolz, nice collection, i relly like your laps, and that endli looks like a short body.

Thanks! The laps and congicus are still "new" to the tank, I'm hoping they color up a bit more as they become more comfortable. As for the endli, it grew to about 11" pretty quickly but it has stopped growing for a while. Just keeps getting chunkier haha.

Welcome to the wnderful world of polys. Awesome collectionyou got started there.

Not sure what it is about the lighter 'lap' that just stikes me as not all lap maybe a hybid. Its head shape seems a bit different along with its pattern. Even with a faded pattern it looks to almost have the ansorgii characteristic to it. Not uncommon for ansorgii/endli hybrids to make it to market. If it colors up you will be able to tell more.

Thanks! I've been keeping one foot in and one foot out of the poly world for a couple of years, but I've recently jumped right in. Interesting observation, I am not very familiar with Laps so I just took the LFS word for it. It does have some greenish stripes like a lap on its head if I look real close. With the amount of mass breeding that goes on nowadays I wouldn't be surprised if it was a hybrid though.
