Because catching it is only half the fun... not to mention its some good eating and can use what we don't eat for some more fishing.

Good god, does no one here eat what they catch?
 :irked: :WHOA: :(

All sharks must be bled quickly!!! If not the urea will taint the meat. The only chance you MAY have is to try to soak it in milk overnight. As far as you others saying dogfish tasted good, you must be talking about the spiny dogfish(delicacy in England) because the smooth that we have in Cali taste like *****

dog fish and smoothies are totally different. our soupfins are dogfish.

these are soupfins taken here in cali. north LA area. Not mine though. got them from a report @ scsurffishing.com

Your dad is lucky he only got one. I dive Boston harbor 3x a week and I always encounter dogfish. They normally travel in packs here. If ya catch one it’s a good chance that’s all you’re going to catch, and what a bloody mess they make on the boat. What’s all this talk of catch and release... If I catch a striper of size... there will be no releasing... If I catch a dogfish it’s going back and I'm moving the boat...

Sorry for not getting back right away, I ended up going on a trip to New York City with some friends. The tasted pretty good, some parts I think were ruined from the urea, but others tasted really good. Very recomended to try!

MG. Just wondering what you do to be diving Boston harbor 3x a week, just for fun?!

You mean for work? I work @ south shore hosp. My tidal; Nuclear Medicine Technologist. I test organ functionality and I look for cancer...
