My dads idea...Will it work? Filter with out a pump!?!?!?

What kind of stock is your father going to keep?

koi and goldfish. I told him he should make it tropical and put some p-bass in there :D
 
It can't be done without a pump unless we are talking huge amount of water with lots of plants. As to wanting to save electricity, there are a few options; solar and wind. The pumps can cost you anywhere from $30 and up to a few hundred based on the size of pond your planning.
