While he doesn't appear to be rutilus or an Indian giant, I'm beginning to think he's not lica, either.
In keeping with my hypothesized six species genus, five if there's no dwarf, I feel that this is probably what I would call a yarrelli. I've said elsewhere before that I feel that it is quite possible that Thailand could hold a goonch that is identical to the south Indian warm water variety.
Look a this pictures of the three variety of goonch that can be collected in Thailand. I feel that this supports my views as it shows three clearly different varieties living in the region (all of which were being called yarrelli by the site that collected them, mind you).
